Welcome to my website
I am currently a Ph.D.-Student and Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (Graduate Assistant) at the Professorship for Practical Philosophy at Saarland University in Germany. Before taking this position, I did my B.A. and M.A. in Philosophy and Sociology at RWTH Aachen University.
My current research mainly focusses on metaethics and related areas and my dissertation is about moral disagreement. While there surely are a lot of pressing disagreement-related questions, I am mostly interested in the nature of moral disagreement itself. The questions I tackle in my dissertation include: What is a moral disagreement? What are the necessary and sufficient conditions that give rise to moral disagreement? Can the fact that someone morally disagrees with you be evidence that you are wrong? What metaethical theory best explains the phenomenon of moral disagreement and its features?
My further philosophical interests particularly include (normative) ethics, epistemology, and philosophy of language. I also have a deep interest in the philosophy of David Hume and its influence on contemporary analytic philosophy.
